How do I Assign an Editor to a Proposal?

There is no specific Book Editor automatically assigned to a new proposal and Book Editors cannot view proposals unless they are assigned by the Press Editor. Press Editors can view and access all proposal information. It is recommended that there is at least one Book Editor assigned to the proposal, who can be responsible for ensuring that tasks are completed and act as a contact point for the author and reviewers.

To assign a Book Editor:

  1. Click the ‘Book Editors’ button in the main header
  2. Scroll down the email display and edit the email content, if required
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the name of the Book Editor that you wish to assign. Click the ‘+Add’ button in the relevant row

This will assign the individual and send the email. The ‘+Add’ button will now be replaced by a ‘X Remove’ button, should an editor need to be unassigned.

Complete the above as many times as needed, should multiple editors be assigned to the proposal.

The name(s) of the assigned Book Editor(s) will now appear on the proposal page.
