How do I Assign and Track an Editorial Review Assignment for a Proposal?
The Editorial Review Assignment is used to ask someone associated with the press (Editorial Board/Committee, Series Editor etc) to look at a proposal and provide feedback. Editorial Review Assignments can be completed before or after External/Peer Review (or both), and will see the full history of review comments.
To assign an Editorial Review:
Click ‘+ Add Reviewers’ in the Editorial Review Assignment table
Select the required Editorial Reviewer from the available list. There is a search box available to help find the reviewer (note: members will have to be part of an ‘Editorial Group’ to be listed. Contact your Press Editor if you do not know how to assign them to this)
- Prior to assignment an editor can view the reviewer’s profile by clicking on their name, their review history by clicking on the ‘view’ text, and also the basic user details (name, email address, group etc)
- Select a due date/deadline for the task to be completed
- Select the review form that you wish the Editorial Reviewer to complete (note: the system can have multiple review forms available)
Click SubmitRelated Articles:
- Edit the email template, if required
- Click ‘Submit’
The Editorial Reviewer will receive the email asking them to complete the review form.
The assignment will now be displayed in the Editorial Review Assignment table towards the bottom of the proposal page. The above must be repeated if multiple Editorial Reviewers are required.
Once the review task is complete, the date it was completed, the recommendation to the Book Editor, and a ‘View’ button will be available. Clicking on this button will display a full copy of the Editorial Reviewers feedback.
