How Do I Contact a Book Proposal’s Author?

A Book Editor can view the submitting author/editor’s user profile by clicking on the name in the ‘Principal Contact’ cell at the top of the proposal. This will display user information such as name, email address, institution/affiliation, social media accounts etc.

If the  assigned Book Editor needs to contact the principal contact during the proposal process (excluding form editorial decisions), they must:

  1. Click the email icon next to the name. This will create a pop-up email window with the contact’s email address already populated
  2. Enter a subject line and the content of the email
  3. Click ‘Send’

The principal contact can be updated post-submission, should the original submitter become unavailable. The new principal contact will have to already have a user profile on the book management system. To change the principal contact:

  1. Click ‘Change’
  2. Edit the displayed email, if required
  3. Find the user that you wish to assign as the principal contact (a search box is available to locate the user)
  4. Click ‘+ Assign’ in their row

The email will be sent to the new contact, who will now be able to access the online proposal details.
